The “Centro Culturale Fonti San Lorenzo” is a voluntary association that works to preserve and keep alive one of the few spaces enabling socialising within the neighbourhood of Fonti San Lorenzo in Recanati.The Cultural Centre was born in the early 90s, by renovating a farmhouse and the surrounding abandoned park. Now, it is a permanent venue for the activities of the association supported by an agreement with the local council. The ONLUS association has grown over time, working hard to create a collaborative and democratic meeting space, for cultural and community based proposals.Halfway between a meeting centre and a cultural and social promotion centre, the association works every day for the meeting of all the different age groups and supports the meeting, coexistence and intergenerational exchange between elderly , teens and children, the target groups of the Association.Daily the Youth Centre offers, thanks to the work of volunteers and professional educators, a qualified educational service, unique to the area, and proposals related to culture, art, music, critical consumption, environment, sustainable development and participative democracy. The project aims to continue developing many recreational, cultural and social initiatives, voluntary or organised, based on the values of participation, care, self-realisation of the individuals and the group.The project objectives are:- improve the integration and connections between different age groups and cultures;- motivational incentive toward achieving a proactive common civic sense;- improve awareness of environmental issues and sustainable development;- promote the arts (mainly music, fine art, literature, theatre and audiovisual projects);- offer extra-curricular support;- manage a daily recreational and educational opportunity for every citizen (aged 3 to 99 years old);-promote active citizenship and the principles of the European community.The centre can host up to 2 EVS volunteers simultaneously at the moment.The volunteers that will participate in the project will be selected to carry out their own specific responsibilities, as well as some basic common tasks.The common tasks include the management of the association:1 care of the green area and the vegetable garden;2 tidy the association at the end of the working day;3 daily communication and dialogue with the people who attend the centre (young and old);4 organisations of events;5 creation of training days and workshops;6 video, photo and communication.The coordinator of the volunteers will manage all these general activities offering every week a new time table with the activities to be carried out, specified by the hour.The daily specific tasks will be:-Volunteer 1: Games room (Ludoteca). The V. 1 will need a strong predisposition to work with children aged 6 to 11 years and will deal with the games room. The V. 1 will support the meeting of the children, by discrete intervention, ensuring the compliance with the rules and objectives of the youth centre as well ensuring safety. There will be educators and volunteers that constantly oversee and train the V. 1. He will deal with the activities for the games room for the children, supporting the educators.Among the activities includes:• workshops in drawing, painting, decoupage, paper machè, clay modelling, etc ...;• general recreational activities;• use of computers for training;• theatre workshops for children;• environmental education workshops;• loan of games and toys;• festivals and events for children and parents.The games room are mainly located on the ground floor:a) game room;b) library;c) art workshop;-Volunteer 2: Youth centre (CAG). The V. 2 will have a strong predisposition to work with young people who attend the youth centre (from 12 to 25 years old) supporting the educators and volunteers of the Centre in proposing and carrying out activities. The V. 2 will use the following rooms:a) music room (in the basement);b) theatre room;c) computer room;d) cinema;e) library;f) art studio;g) multifunctional spaces;h) mini football pitch.In addition to the artistic activities, the V. 2 will deal with:• after school club and study group;• music workshops (recycled materials);• sports tournaments;• film club;• training workshops.The project will contribute to the cultural enrichment of the EVS participants and the Youth Centre. We will notice the long-term benefits in the EVS participants, users of the Centre and the population of Recanati. These intercultural connections are the first steps for a Europe without barriers.
