The project EVS IN SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE will occur in São Tomé and Principe Island and in Principe Island and has as main themes: Art and culture and Development Cooperation. The main objectives of the project are foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries; contribute to developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field.The EVS activities will start on 15th December 2009 and will end on 14th December 2010. The Services will last 12 months and involves one hosting organization, two sending organizations and 4 volunteers from Portugal. The volunteers will take part in different activities in Santa Casa da Misericordia de Sao Tome e Principe (SCMSTP) using non-formal education, creativity and innovation methods and tools. During this period the volunteers will have the chance to work with other Portuguese and Sao Tornean volunteers in leisure time activities for children, young people and elderly people.For the hosting organisation will be the first time that they will receive EVS volunteers, so it will be a great experience, for the organisation's staff, for the volunteers but also for the beneficiaries of the activities.
