The project is a 9 month long European Voluntary Service of one Czech volunteer in a Georgian hosting organization Women's Information Centre. The project EVS in Georgia was initiated by the volunteer and her interest in the topics of women's rights as well as by the need of the hosting organization Women's Information Centre in Tbilisi to enrich the organization activities by an international element and to gain new ideas and stimuli for its work.
The goals of the project are set on personal, organizational and social level. On the level of the volunteer the goal is to enable personal growth by non-formal learning. The volunteer will gain new personal and professional experience, knowledge and awareness and will gain new language skills. The volunteer is graduated in the field of social work and she want to use the EVS outcomes in her future studies and work. That is why the project can increase her employability and competitiveness and enable her better and high quality promotion of the social work profession. On the organizational level the goal is to increase the quality of the organization's work. The organization will gain new ideas and outlook on the work and the volunteer will broaden the organizational activities by workshops for Georgian youths. On the social level the goal is to increase public' awareness about gender and women issues.
Discovering the socio-political and cultural context connected to the women affairs in Georgia and organization of workshops and presentations for Georgian youths will be the main activities of the volunteer in Georgia. Similar presentations will be held also after the volunteer's arrival back to the Czech Republic.
Non-formal learning methods like presentation, discussion, observation, learning by doing, studying of media and documents, visual techniques etc. will be used and the self-improvement and self-initiative of the volunteer will be strongly supported by both the sending and the hosting organization.
