PROJECT
FINISHED
kleinVerhaal wants to receive a European Volunteer for one year in the organization. kleinVerhaal organizes different community art projects to stimulate solidarity and creativity within society. Through our projects, in which we engage a lot in vulnerable people, we create places where (all sorts of) people really meet and where stereotypes are confronted and questioned with a lot of imagination. We dare people to step out of their comfort zone and take ownership of the process we are engaged in together. The volunteer will be a part of the team and will learn through intensive participation in our productions that are characterized by a lot of reflection as the content 'organically grows' through the collaboration of artists, the participants, the staff of kleinVerhaal and it's partners. In the beginning the volunteer will be involved (as a participant observer, assistant organiser, …) in all the different aspects of the different productions. Through these experiences they will find out their own interests/strengths/learning opportunities within the productions. Later on we want to develop a different focus with the volunteer and want to make space for an own project that can be developed. As productions have very multidisciplinary and customized consequences/ side effects that offer a lot of opportunities for the volunteer. The latter thus be seen as an 'own project' where the volunteer becomes the organiser/initiator. Together with the volunteer we do the effort of identifying these opportunities because their own input of and the development of their own style/role within the team is encouraged. For kleinVerhaal this is second participation with the ERASMUS+ program and the benefits of welcoming the 2nd EVS volunteer will be mutually enriching to both the organization and the volunteer, as it was with the EVS volunteer (Sisilia Akello-Okello) from Mai 2015 till Mai 2016.
