PROJECT
FINISHED
The main tasks of the volunteers are helping us with the free-time activities for children and with the practical work. Last year Zavod Manipura renovated the attic of the house and built a big playing room there. This year there is still need to finish some details, but most of the practical work will be around the house. The volunteers at Zavod Manipura will build a small wooden stable for the animals (goal is to have 2 goats, some chicken and more rabbits), a wooden cottage for the bicycles and tools and of course they want to construct and decorate a playground for children. Therefor the volunteers will make wooden constructions for swings, small wooden play houses, climbing poles etc. And will also renovate the old garage and make it a nice handcraft atelier where wooden toys and decoration can be made.Next to this a workshop is organized for playing for the local kindergarten once a week and a workshop for mentally disabled adults every Friday. They organize 2 workshops about inter cultural learning for the volunteers and try to prepare a presentation of their country and culture for the local primary schools. Before the volunteers start to work with children we have a workshop about the playing and communication skills. The mentors and guides of Zavod Manipura monitor their progress in the communication and give them a lot of mentoring support. Zavod Manipura will host 6 short term volunteers with fewer opportunities from 3 different countries at the same time because they learn a lot in this way, Stichting Go from the Netherlands are one of these 3 countries on personal and intercultural level. Each group stays 59 days + 2 travel days.
