Y-Global is a development and advocacy organisation focusing on human rights for all and justice and peacebuilding. Our regular activities are exchange programmes, development programmes, communication programmes and advocacy programmes.
Y Global's objective, and the objective of this project, is to empower young people to advocate for policies that are people friendly and that comply with the principles of human rights for all. This involves strengthening youth participation in advocacy work; empowering young leaders to be active citizens; fostering intercultural understanding; and building an international network of young people committed to working for peace and justice.
Main activities undertaken:
1. Planning, implementing, taking part in, and following up an international leadership training programme for young leaders from 15 European countries. The focus of the training (Global Week) was the Stop Poverty campaign, with an emphasis on climate justice - understanding the issues, how to lobby for change, and networking and working across national borders.
2. Young Peace Performers - spending time with, and supporting, an international group of young leaders from the global South, learning about intercultural understanding, about advocacy in an international context, about economic justice and ethical trade, and mobilizing young people to engage in policy Empowerment at local, national and global level. Ms. Pricope was able to spend 2 weeks in Tanzania with the team.
