The project will take place in Politistiko Ergastiri Ayion Omoloyiton that is a non-government organization and is involved in activities concerning culture, history and arts. It has 11 years of experience in small-scale research, education activities and performances. Theatre and music are in the agenda for local youths through newly established teams. Its activities vary from local to international with an emphasis on the involvement of youths and younger children in cultural activities, mostly involved in the local neighborhood. Our neighborhood, and historical neighborhood, dated as a burial site in ancient times (archaic – roman period), one of the oldest settlings outside the wall of Lefkosia, has lately been reviving after a long period of decay. New families are moving in the houses restored considered as national heritage architecture. The neighborhood consists of habitats from different cultures and background making it an excellent place for intercultural learning, practicing tolerance and participation. Any volunteer participating in the project will be asked to live within the neighborhood. Be actively involved in the organized activities of the organization, either locally or internationally. He/she will be asked to facilitate, and gradually, participate, organise, and implement activities within this frame. Our organization is actively collaborating with the local primary school and high school and the local church committee. This involvement includes co-organizing events or even responding to proposed activities. The volunteer will be asked to participate in such events. Our Organization is hosted in a recently renovated historical building for turning into a cultural centre for the neighborhood and city. The volunteers will be highly involved in the development of activities hosted within the building. Their specific task throughout he project will be to inform and present their identity as EVS volunteers funded by the EU as a project. Living proof of activities and structure that exists within the European frameworks of Education and Learning.
