Participant of our project could be anyone, regardless of their nationality, sexual orientation, religion and politics. We not expected from the volunteers qualifications and experience. However, important for us it was their motivation and willingness to act and the lack of resistance in working with people poor, neglected and homeless. During the nine months our volunteers was Maria, Jose and Cristian, who came from Spain. The project promoted the ideas of social equality, European unification and the anti-discrimination. Active social attitude of young people and voluntary activities to promote tolerance and solidarity among the general public and young people. Direct contact with homeless people was the best school of life and a way to show the true face of homelessness. Together with our personnel, volunteers participated in the daily life of our center, which allowed them to understand and look at the problem of homelessness from a completely different point of view. The responsibilities of the volunteers were inducted step by step, but were also willing to implement their own ideas and solutions. Working together with the renovation of the participants of the house, common tasks, help with preparing meals, organization of free time in the common room, opened untrusting residents to volunteer. With time, the residents were happy to learned new words and they were more willing to spend time with our volunteers. Apart from the tasks related with the activities at the facility, volunteers had the opportunity to enhance the quality of the project, by participating in meetings about regarding the Programme in schools, learn about Polish culture through participation in social events, culinary evenings and sightseeing tours.
