The international seminar “E(U)volution: The Generation” to be held in Sofia from 10 to 17 April 2016 aims at informing young people how the European institutions work and the rights attached to the European citizenship in order to provide them with knowledge and skills for active participation in the democratic life of the union. 45 participants will be acquainted with the design and competences of the EP and EC, seek ways to improve the European political debate and develop strategies to raise the awareness and the information level of the young citizens about the various possibilities for creating and being part of the European civil society. Panel discussions, working groups, lectures, plenary sessions, simulation games and open space will be some of the methods used tostudy the different forms of European communication and active citizens participation in the democratic life of the union.Through the exchange of ideas, methodology and best practices, combined with discussions with experts, politicians and representatives of EU institutions the participants will improve their skills in the European communication and acquire competence about how to develop activities fostering active European citizenship.The political, social, economic and cultural aspects that the seminar addresses will contribute to shape a vision how to strengthen European democracy and reaffirm the concept of active European citizenship.The ideas and knowledge generated during the course can be used by every participant and be implemented at local level.
