The European Association for Eifel and Ardennes (EVEA) promotes cross-border cooperation in the quadrangle Eifel-Ardennes in the areas of economy and tourism, culture, nature and landscape conservation as well as sports and youth exchanges.
The International Youth Commission of EVEA organizes annually about 15 - 20 European youth encounters, especially in the region Eifel-Ardennes. During these encounters, the young people get an insight into the society, the social situation and the working environment of its neighboring countries. The practical and working together contributes to the integration of Europe's youth in the region.
The Youth Exchange "Euro Visions - creative make Leisure" from 8 - 22 August 2015 on the youth castle in Neuerburg young people from six different countries has allowed to participate in a joint program of activities, which focuses on their active participation in the various workshops and coexistence standing in the community. This allowed them to discover social and cultural differences and to make them aware. In this way, they could learn from each other, develop initiatives and strengthen their feeling of being European citizens.
The basis for the successful cooperation the longstanding German-Luxembourg border partnership within the EVEA addition since the 1990s and with the other project partners from Finland, Belgium (Flanders), Spain and Italy. The adverse event (end of holiday) unfortunately the Austrian partner organization could ask any subscriber for the meeting this time.
At the two project weeks each about 50 young people from six different countries have participated. The participants had to prepare for the encounter: linguistically, culturally, organizationally. At the meeting they have had new experiences through active participation in the workshops: meeting new people, a new country, new experiences of cultural cooperation. The match had thus a direct impact on young participants, the results achieved on the local environment.
Learning took place at the Youth Exchange at different levels and with all stakeholders. The participants learned new skills, including social and civic competences. She can learn, learned self-reliance and responsibility, deeper knowledge of foreign languages and acquired communication skills. The youth leaders acquired at the same time skills in relation to their professional development.
Promoters and local communities have built new skills and developing its European network.
