PROJECT
FINISHED
One of the most important priorities of the current company is training and development of human resources. Educated and trained person is an essential resource for success of the enterprise, region and country.
High unemployment in Slovakia, particularly among young people and graduates has a heavy demands on vocational education at secondary school level. It is important not to educate unemployed graduates, but future employees with professional knowledge and skills tailored to the needs of the labor market .
The 1. Slovak Engineering Cluster was created definitely for the purpose of linking of the public and private sector aimed at promoting the development of the engineering industry in the region. This sector has been and continues to be a core industry in the region and it is important to "supply " companies with qualified employees. However, this is only possible by collaboration of companies and schools, and in particularly by increasing the practical training directly in companies. As a model for our vocational education can serve the German dual system of vocational education and training, where pupils prepare directly in enterprises for their future employers. With our project we would like to achieve the following objectives:
- to exchange experience and develop possible proposals to reform the vocational education
- to gain new experience and knowledge from the country in which a dual system exists, in view of the forthcoming amendment to the vocational training in Slovakia
- to involve more intensive the key employers in the education and to show them that coordinated common education can bring them a lot of benefits
- to enhance the cooperation between the partnerships created between organizations that are responsible for vocational education for the labor market and adapt the education to the requirements of the practice
The main activity of the project is the mobility of employees of secondary vocational schools and companies, where pupils perform practical training. Project lasts 12 months and is realized in cooperation with the German educational organization Jenaer Bildungszentrum .
The most important outcome of the project we consider the analysis how possible is to introduce the dual education to the involved organizations.
