The project “European vocational apprenticeship –the experience for today and for tomorrow “ attempts to meet the expectations on the European Job Market. PZNr 10 SME im M. Kopernika faces another challenge to realize new tasks aiming at the improvement of the quality of teaching, taking into consideration the growing need of the students, their parents as well as the employers. The school’s development lets its graduates fit into the job market easily or to continue their education at universities. The project “European vocational apprenticeship – the experience for today and for tomorrow “ develops the experience worked out throughout the previous four years of the school’s foreign vocational apprenticeships. Both Polish and European partners have been included into the process of its preparation as well as its implementation. The Regional Employers Association “PODBESKIDZIE”, the representatives of job center in Oświęcim as well as one of the largest employing company in the area - GRUPA KĘTY S.A. also contributed to the project preparation. Due to the fact that we have just started the cooperation with a new partner – TellUs Education Group, the project opens new possibilities of learning the English attitude to a job, to the personal competence relating to a particular line of business as well as practical learning and improving a foreign language emphasizing vocational vocabulary. 33 technical college students will take part in the project. 9 mechanics, 16 hotel management technicians, 8 culinary technicians. They will develop and improve their occupational competence during the two year planned area of activity. (09.2016-08.2018) The students will participate in the 4-week apprenticeship in foreign companies while learning new methods and techniques of their occupations as well as learning specific activities and tasks necessary for their future jobs. They will acquire new experiences and qualifications, know the newest technologies and find out about the specific way of managing foreign business enterprises. Above all, they will master their English skills including vocational vocabulary and they will also become even better motivated about their educational progress. The trip abroad will be preceded by pedagogical, cultural, language and risk prevention preparation. The partner organization TellUs Education Group in Plymouth (England) will take the role of an organizer during the stay in the host country. This will be a great opportunity to get to know the richness of culture and heritage of the partner country – England. Cross-cultural competence will be developed such as tolerance, acceptance, openness. The attitude towards cultural differences will be improved. Stereotypes will be overcome. The project will support the people of low living standard, low income, difficult family situation, coming from small towns or villages and those with health problems. It will try to reinforce the students motivation to study and to self-improvement. The increase of self-belief in students’ own abilities will result in higher personal and career aspirations. The participants will learn how to overcome stress and assimilate in the new environment.The actions connected with the students’ mobility will be based on the ECVET principles as well as equally well known and recognized system called AptEd. Whereas the skills acquired by students will be confirmed by Europass Mobility. The school will provide the certificates confirming the level of language skills in terms of vocational vocabulary. The foreign employers will grade the students abilities and skills acquired during their apprenticeship in the Evaluation Card. Current evaluation and risk management will influence the high quality of the project. The results will be publicized in the school local area and the school’s foreign partners. The quality and attractiveness of teaching will be increased due to the experience the teachers acquire during the exchange. The project partners will reinforce their position on the local and European market. They will improve the techniques they use. The employers will gain qualified and highly motivated employees. Not only will the project’s actions influence all the engaged participants but the whole society will benefit as well due to social death prevention. It will attempt to intensify the students motivation to self- improvement and towards their educational process. The increase of self-belief in students’ own abilities will result in higher personal and career aspirations. The participants will learn how to overcome stress and assimilate in the new environment.
