PROJECT
FINISHED
The project" European internship as an opportunity for ZSM students" is carried out in the National Education Committee Technical School of Mechanical Engineering in Poznan. The project involves 40 students from the School of Mechanical Engineering in two rounds of 20 students at the turn of September and October 2015, as well as 20 students at the turn of September and October 2016. These are third grade students of a mechatronic profile class, a mechanical profile class for work in a fire brigade (8 students) and an optical profile group (4 students).
The internship for students will take place in German companies at the turn of September and October, the dates of the internship are to be consistent with the current date of the work placement. The rest of the students not involved in the project will take part in work placement in Poland at the same time.
The aim of the project is to develop specific skills in the field of mechatronics, mechanics and optics. Students will be able to take advantage of many years of professional experience of German companies in which the internship will take place. The internship will enable the students to put knowledge into practice. Thanks to the experience gained during the internship and the possibility to improve language competence, the students will hopefully increase their chances of employment after graduating.
The students will stay in Germany for four weeks and they will have a chance to work for German companies in Dresden. The companies selected by the intermediary organization Europa Direkt are those having a very good reputation, as well as being modern and open to international cooperation .
We expect to obtain the following, both soft and hard results. Soft results :
-gaining new professional skills according to the plan of the work placement
-increasing students’ chances for employment in the future
-improving students' language skills
-boosting students' self-confidence
-making the vocational training in the Technical school more attractive for students
Hard results:
-receiving Europass Mobility Document that confirms the vocational experience
-receiving a certificate confirming the work in the company
-receiving the evidence of participation in a German language course both before and during the placement
-getting a credit necessary for getting promoted to the fourth grade and thus completing the Technical School
The long-term benefits include improving the school's reputation as well as gaining a European dimension, which will hopefully translate into greater interest in the school and bigger interest in subsequent years to technical classes. The project is bound to have a positive impact on other schools. The positive review of the project implemented by the school might also encourage other educational institutions to participate in similar initiatives.
