EUROPEJCZYCY Z POWIATU OTWOCKIEGO

The project participants will be 120 students of second, third and fourth year of technical secondary school of specializations: economy technician, hotelier technician, waiter, nutrition and food service technician and food technology technician.
After information campaign we will start recruitment. Admitted students will complete pedagogical-language-culture preparation classes. Then the participants will leave for 3-week long internship. In April of 2016, two groups will leave at the same time: one group to Italy and one to Portugal (each of 20 trainees and 2 guardians). After their return, in May 2016 the next group will go to Italy. On the last Sunday of holidays (28th of August 2016) another two groups will leave: to Italy and to Portugal. After return of those trainees, last group will leave for internship in Portugal. After coming back to school, students will prepare individual reports, create presentations outlining the project, exhibition of photographs from internships, participate in conference summarizing and disseminating outcomes of the project which will be the last part of their participation in the project. Participants will benefit for long time from effects of participation in the project - it will affect their professional and personal life.
The main objective of the project is to increase participants opportunities in labor market. It will be accomplished by achieving specific objectives:
development of professional skills fitted to the demand of local and regional labor market,
learning a foreign language,
learning about the culture and customs of the host country.
These objectives are consistent with goals of the Erasmus +:
- Raising the level of key competences and skills, with emphasis on adjusting to the needs of labor market;
- Expanding international dimension of education and training;
- Improvement of teaching and learning of languages and promotion of linguistic diversity and increase of intercultural awareness within the EU.
The project will bring following hard results:
- Completion of preparatory classes by participants;
- Obtaining certificates of cultural and pedagogical preparation course;
- Obtaining certificates of language course completion;
- Obtaining an internship certificate;
- Obtaining the Europass Mobility documents;
Soft results are:
- Gaining knowledge and skills which increase participants chances in labor market;
- Learning a new language;
- Developing ability of using IT technology;
- Acquiring ability to work in international environment:
- Improvement of professional and personal aspirations,
- Increasing motivation for future learning,
- Increase in duty and discipline;
- Knowledge of history, culture and customs of the host country;
- Developing attitude of tolerance for different customs and behaviors;
- Rising prestige and attractiveness of the school.
The project will also bring material products:
- A collection of photographs taken by the participants;
- Presentations outlining the project and its effects;
- Materials gathered during evaluation of the project.
During project we will use developed and tested methodology, based on clear distribution of tasks and constant headmaster’s supervision of all project activities. From first to last part of the project documentation will be collected and project team will have clearly defined employees responsibilities.
In addition to development of general professional qualifications, participants will also acquire knowledge and experience specific to their profession. Working in multinational team will contribute to improvement of participants linguistic competence and knowledge of cultural diversity in Europe, strengthen their self-esteem and self-confidence, contribute to students personal development. Learning foreign language and vocabulary characteristic for each specialization – experience gained during the internship will make easier competing for job after graduation. Participants will be able to transfer those achieved experiences to companies in which they will be employed in the future. Skills gained during the internship will help them get good job, get promoted fast, facilitate possible decision to start a business.
Noticing changes in attitudes and skills of participants should encourage other students of the school to make further efforts to develop their skills and gain work experience so important during education.
Our school and project partners will expand knowledge and skills, gain new experiences useful in development of international projects. Project team members will get to know people raised up in different cultures, which will contribute to increasing their sensitivity to issues of intercultural dialogue and diversity of customs and behaviors in other European countries .
Success of another abroad internships project should improve the reputation of school and its popularity among middle school students, which will improve recruitment of new students.
