PROJECT
FINISHED
European Youth Future was a London project between 9 no-for-profit Organizations from 7 European countries, all working with youths but from different field. Hosted by NICOLA, the project was divided into two parts: a study visit for youth workers and a Youth Exchange.
The study visit involved 30 representatives from 7 countries and 9 government officials and non-governmental entities. The youth exchange involved 54 participants (45 youths + 9 leaders ) from the institutions and organizations of the 7 countries that previously participated in the Study Tour.
In the first activity, we introduced and deepened the different activities and opportunities for youth participation and we found ways for youth to be more participatory, not only in local activities but also in national and European projects.
Debates , round-tables , exhibitions etc ... all of which hd been made in a way where organizations shared their experiences and expressed doubts which were resolved within the group. We implemented workshops, a conference and we visited organizations and government entities that engage with youth.
In the second activity, 45 young people from the 7 countries who attended the study visit , participated in a youth exchange that took place in London, During the 7 days we implemented very dynamic activities which helped the integration and enhanced the presentation of the different groups, knowledge games, role playing , workshops , debates , planning, creating, visits to other local organizations and associations. We used the non formal and informal learning methodology, which allowed us to create the best atmosphere and relationships among participants.
Share experiences from different countries added value to the project itself. On the one hand / as workers / as youth and other hand / as protagonists ( young men / women ) we have been as close as a family with the intend of being heard in a society as Europe that increasingly offers opportunities like this.
At the end of the project, all the participants were much more aware of themselves as European citizens and of their capacities of being active and participatory. They built a network of contacts with their peers and other organizations around Europe.
