European Youth Citizenship, Employment and Entrepreneurship – European youth exchange to develop entrepreneurship competences in non-formal and informal learning activities

The overall project aim is to improve the level of key competences and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, as well as to promote participation in democratic life in Europe and in the labour market, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity, through the mobility of young people in non-formal and informal learning activities between the Programme countries, and through strengthened links between youth field and labour market. The project is in particular focused on the enhancing skills and competences of young people for their active citizenship, participation to the labour market and entrepreneurship as crucial factors to boost growth and jobs and to foster social equity and inclusion in Europe.
This focus depends on the consideration, shared - since directly experienced in their daily life - by the young members of the Hungarian applicant non-profit association, and by the Italian,Greek, Slovakian and Romanian groups of young people supporting the initiative, therefore in particular focusing on the need of facing together the central aspects of the development of active and European citizenship, also for contributing to the promotion and the development of young people capacities and initiative, building together on the possibility to experiment ideas transforming them in action, taking-charge of specific initiatives and assuming the related responsibilities, facing the hindrances and finding solutions by means of creative and innovative measures.
In coherence with this approach to the citizenship, the general aim of the project is articulated in the following specific objectives:
- to develop the political dimension of youth active citizenship,
- to develop the social dimension of youth active citizenship,
- to develop the economic dimension of youth active citizenship: relationship between an individual and labour- and consumer- market, right to work and to a minimum subsistence level, in particular through improving economic skills for job-related and other economic activities and youth entrepreneurship, and knowledge of different European working situations and aspects of employment / unemployment, and their relationship to social aspects of global economy, as well as awareness of social consequences of changes in world economy, role of young people in European economic reality and in Europe 2020 strategy for growth and jobs, social equity and inclusion.
Project will have 59 participants : 24 from Hungary and 35 foreigners, the latter divided into 4 groups of 7 people, each from a different European country (Italy, Slovakia, Romania (2 groups form 2 institutions) and Greece). Young participants will have an age between 15 and 30, excepted one adult for each national group. Project implementation and realization will take part in Hungary, Budapest, 5 day long mobility in Spring 2015.
Main realization phases of implementation: 1) Preparation of Mobility, 2) Implementation of Mobility, 3) Evaluation of Mobility.
Expected direct impact on participants is the improvement of their competencies and knowledge, related to EU LLL key competencies and of their awareness about democratic systems, their role and responsibility in European citizenship, in particular to solidarity and equality. Besides this, by developing young participants’s economic entrepreneurship skills, not just their professional knowledge but – through different simulations and roleplays – their creativity and inspiration will also improve and strengthen. Learning outcomes will be certified with Youthpass and so recognition of the competencies acquired will also intensify. Expected impacts of program on participating countries are that it will results quality improvement in the field of youth workers, special regard to cooperation between institutions acting in youth field. More generally the development of youth policy, involving educational organizations acting at local and regional level. Moreover the recognition of non-formal and informal learning activities, and sharing of good practices. We intend to achieve and implement the expected results and impacts mentioned above also at national and European level, with special regard to cross border cooperation between the stakeholders and to recognition of flexible, non-formal and informal learning activities.
