The PROQUALINDT project will develop a European-level training programme for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) at levels 1, 2 and 3, using existing standards, general principles and certification guidelines (EN 473, CEN/TC 138, AHG8) as a basis. Following an initial analysis of the state of the art for NDT teaching/training in the participating countries, project partners will both design an outline training programme and develop a series of didactic training modules specific to NDT. A series of 6 training modules will be developed covering NDT methods such as ultrasonic, industrial radiology, liquid penetrant and magnetic particle and spanning the 3 training levels. The 6 modules will be accompanied by a series of 6 training guides plus 6 student training manuals and 6 teacher/trainer manuals. All training modules will be developed in line with EN 473 standards. Products will be produced on paper, in each of the participating partner languages (EN, FR, DE & ES) and will be further promoted via the web pages of the project partners. The project results will be presented at the 9th European Conference of Non-Destructive Testing (Berlin, September 2006) and to the Plenary Meeting of the European Federation of Non-Destructive Testing (EFNDT) in addition to articles being sent to relevant NDT press/journals.
