The project "Eu.R.Y.D" is a bilateral exchange between the Municipality of Mormanno (Calabria) and the polish association Instytut Współpracy Regionalnej. The activities will take place in Mormanno from 25 to 31 july 2016. Each partner will involve 15 partecipants from 17 to 22 years old and two group leaders. The language will be English.The main topic of the exchange is the awareness of opportunities, weaknesses linked to the development of rural areasand to the wealth of the territory: the motivation of the young people to make an exchange within the rural development is connected to the interest of creating an alternative to the brain drain from the own territory.The objective of the project is to facilitate the awareness of identity towards the own territory in order to increase the economic and social attractiveness through the rediscovery and knowledge of resources and professional opportunities in the rural areas.The project envisages different activities which contribute to the achievement of the objectives: - role playing games and surveys with the objective to create a positive surrounding for the exchange experience and to establish a group sensibility;- sport activities which are useful to rediscover the beauty and potenziality of the territory and to facilitate the team building;- group debates about natural and cultural heritage, responsible and sustainable tourism, new green jobs in the rural areas which are useful to know the territory, to value it, to analyse strenghts and weaknesses of the context;- day trips and excursions at locations which are case histories linked to success stories and best practices in order to encourage a positive cultural behaviour towards the traditional activities and the old rural jobs.The work methods are different: beyond role paying games, facilitation methodologies like the opens space technology, focus group, analysis of objectives and swot analysis.At the end of the exchange, all participants can request the Youth Pass which, based on the european key competences framework, contributes mainly to the set out three of the eight competences that are: "Communication in foreign language (English)", "Learning to learn", "Social and civic competences".With regard to the expected impact on the participants the project envisages:- at least 15 young people who start a sport activity;- at least 10 young people who start a mentoring path on jobs in the field of the sustainable and rural tourism;- at least 10 young people who, through programmes of apprenticeship and traineeship, start a professional path in rural farms and local artisan businesses.
