My project aims to contribute to the institutionalization of the research and teaching on the European Integration at Istanbul Bilgi University, and also to back up the teaching and research activities of the European Institute, the Department of International Relations, and the European Documentation Centre. Graduated from the University of Warwick, Centre for Ethnic Relations, I have been working on ethnicity, mobility, migration, multiculturalism, interculturalism, citizenship, racism, identities, nationalism, Europeanization, modernization and European Integration. Jean Monnet Chair will be an opportunity for me to invest my knowledge and expertise in European Studies, trying to contribute further to Turkey‟s European integration process. This Chair will also be essential for the Istanbul Bilgi University and the European Institute to intensify its effort to create further capacity in European Studies in Turkey. The courses I propose in BA and post-graduate levels are related to the advocacy of European Union integration, Europeanization, interculturalism, European Citizenship, and European Home and Security Affairs.
