"European Meeting of Sport for Tolerance '' is an international youth exchange that will include the participation of 62 young people from 12 European countries, 5 youngs (1 leader + 4 participants). We want to awaken the young participants in the square important project, where sport has the promotion of equality, tolerance and integration into society of gender citizens, race, different culture and religion. The aim of this youth exchange is to bring young Europeans with each other through several sports activities and other activities under non-formal education by promoting tolerance between different young people from differents places in Europe. The highlight of this project will be to create, in group one "tematic flashmob" will include European values. This performance will be presented to the local community during the annual festivals of the village of Arrouquelas. We want to show that the active participation of young people in society can be really important for the development of their localities and religions. At a time when Europe faces a crisis with the large influx of refugees from North Africa, it makes sense to prepare young people for this new reality, that bring to Europe large number of people from this regions. The Sport held an educational manner is undoubtedly a great tool to approach people, with respect for their cultural / religious diversity. During the project we intend to work this area, conducting workshops on the subject with the participation of experts on the topic of intergration and European crisis related to the flow of refugees.It involves 12 European countries, Portugal; Czech Republic; Croatia; Sweden; Poland; Estonia; Italy; Slovenia; France; Belgium; Turkey; HungaryGoals:- Sharing knowledge related to European sports traditions, bridging the gap between generations, a real source of identity and identification of a territory;- Develop social skills among participants, using non-formal education;- Share with the community of our region an international initiative, providing them with a European awareness and a tolerant attitude through such a remarkable area like sport.- Promoting tolerance and respect among young people of the various countries involved in the project, through workshops on race and gender and sports activities in groups;- Identify cases of sports activists who fought for racial and gender equality, calling for reflection among young people about these values;- Identify, demographically, the main sports in each country on a map, and relate them to the cultural characteristics that country.- To sensitize the young participants and the community to the refugee issue;- Benefit from the cooperation of local public institutions with the support of non-profit organizations;- Encouraging young people to develop good conduct during the practice of sporting activities, to develop the sense of "fair play" and respect for the opponent.This project will take place in our smaal Village, Arrouquelas, with about 800 habitants, (Rio Maior Municipality and the district of Santarém), located in central Portugal.The 62 young people aged between 18 and 30, will explore Europe's cultural diversity through sport activities and workshop for 10 days. The aim of this youth exchange is to bring young Europeans with each other through various sports activities and other activities in the field of non-formal education, promoting tolerance between different young people from various places in Europe.
