REFERENCE: 553705-EPP-1-2014-1-FR-EPPKA1-JMD-MOB_EMARO+TITLE: European Master on Advanced Robotics Plus, EMARO+ObjectiveThe European Master on Advanced Robotics Plus (EMARO+) is designed to promote a high-quality educational offer in the area of advanced and intelligent robotics.Course durationTwo years (120 ECTS credits).Brief descriptionThe master's course applies to European and third country-students who already hold a first university degree after at least three years of university studies, with 180 ECTS, in a field related to Robotics area such as Automatic Control, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Applied Mathematics. The applicants have to be fluent in English.EMARO+ is an integrated master's course conducted by the following partners: Ecole Centrale de Nantes (coordinator, France), Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), the University of Genova (Italy) and the University of Jaume I (Castelló de la Plana, Spain). In addition, EMARO+ has associated partners from Asia (the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the Science and Technology Faculty of KEIO University, Japan), and from the industrial sector (IRT Jules Verne, SIIT, BA System, Airbus Group Innovation, Robotnik). EMARO+ students have to spend their first year in a European institution and the second year in another European institution. During the fourth semester an optional mobility is possible to an Asian associated partner or to industrial associated partner. The programme of the first two semesters is the same in the consortium institutions and provides the students with a solid interdisciplinary background across the main areas of robotics (Cognition, Action, and Perception). During the third semester more specialised courses (varying from partner to partner and based on the specific research strengths of the partner’s institutions) are proposed. The fourth semester is devoted to the master's thesis. The student carries out his/her research work under the joint supervision of two advisors from two different consortium institutions.Career prospectsAfter graduation the students will have mastered the different areas of Robotics (Mathematical Modelling, Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Design) in order to be able to deal with Robotics systems as a whole rather than just concentrating on one particular area. The career prospects for EMARO+ graduates are very good since the proposed courses are relevant to today’s high technology society. Students may take the master as a professional terminal degree or join PhD programmes afterwards. An international experienceEMARO+ offers students the possibility of studying in four different European countries and two Asian countries. The language of instruction is English, but local language and culture courses of the hosting countries are included in the programme of study in order to provide the students with an international experience.DiplomaStudents that graduate from EMARO+ master's course will obtain two master's degrees from the institutions where they studied. The degrees are officially recognised and give full access to PhD study programmes. The consortium will deliver a diploma supplement describing the nature, level, context, and content of the studies that were successfully completed by the student.Websitehttp://emaro.irccyn.ec-nantes.fr/
