Gureak is an organization that generates employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Given this mission, training is a key process. The fundamental objective is to meet and share experiences and best practices with others who are doing the same work as Gureak in other countries. This will be a source of innovation processes in Gureak that will result in better service for people who have more difficulties in accessing the labour market. The activity rate among people with disabilities is significantly lower than in general population and Gureak is trying to change this situation with programs and integrative approaches.
Complementary profiles 5 people have participated in the "job shadowing". Training professionals (trainers, technical support ...), innovation professionals / communication, management professionals .. Professionals with different and complementary profiles with a common goal, generating employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The activities developed are called "Job shadowing" or short stays. With these short stays we pretend to know other different realities, other organizations in other countries with different cultures / legislation ... This will be the starting point for trying to build a stable relationship and trust that allows cope with successful larger projects in the future.
The results achieved with this project have been differents; we have made an exchange of good practises with four european countries (Austria. Lithuania, Germany and Denmark), some of them referent in their social policies of labour inclusion of people with disabilities.
Denmark and Lithuanian organizations have visited us so the level of knowledge of the model of the country and the organizations themselves have been deeper.
At the moment we are working in a project for the next year with the austrian and lithuanian organizations.
