European friendship - East meets West

The theme of the project is European Citizenship and the type of the project is multilateral youth exchange.the objective is exploring the impact and raising awareness of the an expanding European Union relating to young people´s issues about East and West Europeans. We will focus primarily on how citizenship affects young people on a daily basis and how ot affects their participation in the long term and explore local, national and European differences for all countries.The countries involved are Finland, Scotland, Germany, Poland, Romania and Czech Republic..Venue: Vuorilahden kurssikeskus, Helsinki, Finland.Duration of the project: 15 days, including the travel days.There will be 52 participants in the exchange including youth leaders.During the exchange, the participants will explore cultural diversity, immigration and discrimination within their own country and take part in workshops and presentations on the themes, cultural visits, traditional activities and activities typical of the countries and cultures such as sking, ice hockey, cruising, sauna, cultural museum, music, traditional games such as Molky. Quoits, and ball games such as football, basketball and volleyball.
