Objective The objective of the European Education in Advanced Ship Design Erasmus Mundus Master programme is to provide a high education in Naval Architecture and Ship and Offshore Design.Course duration One and a half years (90 ECTS)Brief DescriptionThe European Education in Advanced Ship Design master programme corresponds directly to the needs of the European and Worldwide Marine Industry. The programme includes a long duration internship performed in shipyard, classification society (in Europe or in Brazil, Japan, USA, Korea and Turkey), which is usually combined with the master thesis. The mobility scheme includes 3 semesters in 3 different countries and cultures:Semester 1: Liege, Belgium University of Liege - Ship Technology, Ship Structure, Ship Hydrodynamics and Ship DesignSemester 2: Nantes, FranceEcole Centrale de Nantes - Ship Hydrodynamic and Initiation to Research ActivitiesSemester 3: Four available locations are availableAdvanced lectures, Master Thesis and InternshipStudents experience a 5-month internship in a designer, shipyard, classification society or marine manufacturer. They perform an advanced master thesis with this industrial partner under the supervision of an academic partner.An international experienceThe consortium includes several of the most well-known universities in Europe. Associated partner universities are University of Michigan (USA), University of Osaka (Japan), Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), the Vietnam Maritime University, which will have an advisory role and will assist in the recruitment and assessment, with the support of an Industrial Advisory Board.A number of EU-funded scholarships are offered to the best qualified candidates.DiplomaThis Master Course leads to a Double Master Degree (from ULG-Liege, Belgium and ECN-Nantes, France) and a supplement education from Germany (Rostock), Italy (Genoa), Poland (Szczecin), Romania (Galate) or ICAM (France).
