The project EUCOLOG is a response to concrete qualification requirements in the immediate logistics sector as well as in logistical areas of other sectors (logistics as a key technology). A new strategy, combining training and qualification with continuous improvement, delivers rapid training results through in-company education measures that are derived directly from the working process. The SOLOS approach – backed by possibilities of certification – can respond to competence shortfalls which normally become apparent in the working process whilst optimising processes at the same time. It thus connects two important competitive factors for enterprises: personnel development and process improvement. SOLOS also offers time and cost efficiency through integrating the learning model into the organisation’s management culture – through company-internal learning guides, situated at middle management level. Learning takes place whilst business and work processes continue to run and are being improved at the same time.
