PROJECT
FINISHED
TThe APEJ (Chidhood and Youth Association in St Philbert area) is currently coordinating a cultural exchange for our young people. This exchange will take place in St Philbert de Grand Lieu in France from Sunday, July 13th to Thursday, July 24th 2014. In collaboration with local partners such as the CPIE and the municipality of St Philbert de GrandLieu, thirty young persons from PSZOW in Poland, from KERIC in Slovakia, and from the APEJ of St Philbert de Grand Lieu and surrondings in France, will then meet and focus on three main topics.
Determined to enable our young people to go beyond cultural differences and to successfully organize a project together, our partners and we think it is essential to give them the opportunity to experience both formal and informal moments in this exchange. Indeed, creating, thinking, living together and participating in daily life activities will be fundamental to build strong relations. Thanks to the enhancement of each culture with its features, and to the 3 big actions on which this exchange will be grounded, our teenagers will be able to consider both a form of uniqueness and their own place as European citizens in this meeting.
1 / A lifestyle in harmony with sustainable development principles
Everyday life moments will be a way for us to discover and share each culture as a whole. We are willing to enable each one to get involved. Thanks to these daily moments, we will also be able to emphasize the economical, social and ecological aspects necessary to a sustainable development.
Indeed, living together will be part of the process to make them fully aware of their own responsibility regarding a territory.
2 / The enchancement of our natural heritage
This experience will also consist in enhancing a path which was thought out by ramblers, and in intergrating it into our landscape thanks to the collaboration of activity leaders specialized in envrionmental projects. This line of action offers our young people the opportunity to share their ideas and carry out an action leading to a concrete result in public services. Thanks to it, they will also be able to take over a local living space. Besides, technical skills and environmental knowledge/awarness will be nurtured.
3 / An artistic creation
Our young people have decided to design different works so as to highlight the special feature of our city, being located both in a natural environment and very close to an important urban area. This approach aims at giving our exchange a creative dimension and it will therefore enable our teenagers both to express themselves and to develop their technical and artistic skills.
At the end of this period, specific collaborators/partners, as well as (the orgranization of) a reception opened to everyone/ opened to all in St Philbert de Grand Lieu, will contribute to the enhancement of each work/production. Other events will also be planned so as to highlight the commitment of young European citizens to the city and its territory.
This exchange is an intersting way to showcase the role played by young people in European citizenship. It is also a real opportunity to develop a partnership and a lasting cooperation between European countries. Considering the main focus of this exchange, our young people will get fully involved in the process of sustainable development.
Moreover, the involvement of varied stakeholders/partners as well as a strong communication will lead to a large committment to a whole territory.
An other exchange based on a similar theme is already thought of for summer 2015 in one of our partner countries.
