European Arts Forum
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

European arts forum will gather artists, art critics, scholars, participants from across Europe and decision makers for a conference that examines the relationship between art, human dignity and human rights through panel discussions, workshops and meeting with decision makers. The European Arts Forum is a day-long gathering that features a wide range of events, including lectures by expert speakers, small group discussions with policy-makers, musical performances, art exhibits and presentations by the participating young artists. With this project we want to support mobility of artists and cultural professionals which are objectives of Europe 2020 Strategy. As a youth organizations we understand and acknowledge the importance of promoting transnational mobility of cultural and creative players as well as transnational circulation of cultural and creative works, thereby promoting cultural exchanges and intercultural dialogue. We want to support structure dialogue among young artists who are in a competitive disadvantage and decision makers who are willing to find a solution. This is also important because demoralized and disappointed youth are not willing to participate in democratic life if they don't realize how to benefit from it. The main aims of this project are to raise awareness about primary purpose of art among participants as a reaction on it's growing commercialization as well as improving interaction among young artists and desicion makers. Participants will be 30 young artists from all over Europe and their work will be evaluated by jury composed of art experts such as a University professor of Art, art critics, an art historian as well as of Director of cultural programs of World Youth Alliance. Other participants will be 2 or 3 speakers from field of art and other social sciences such as writers, philosophers, architects and 2 or 3 of policy makers responsible for culture sector and youth unemployment. We expect that young participants, will become more involved in decision making process after this event and, encouraged by policy maker's support and advices, start to boldly engage in self-employment and entrepreneurship and run their own startup. We expect that participant will start promoting an actively engagement in art despite all obstacles they encounter and provide an extraordinary example for their peers and colleagues. From art workers and experts we expect more involvement in young artists issue, and from policy-makers we expect they will focus their efforts towards finding the best solutions for issue underlined in the declaration which they will receive from the young artists during the meeting. Shortly, we want to influence to the public attitudes towards culture, change the general opinion that this sector is non-profitable and highlight that cultural and creative sectors are a source of innovative ideas that can be turned into products and services that create growth and jobs and help address societal changes. Moreover, excellence and competitiveness in those sectors are primarily the result of efforts on the part of artists, creators and professionals that need to be promoted.
