EUROPEAN AGROTOURISM VOCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT AND QUALITY CERTIFICATION
The project "ATN-Quality" (European Agrotourism Vocational Empowerment and Quality Certification) concerns the transfer of the VET system "AgroTourNet e-learning software" developed by the LdV pilot project AgroTourNet (www.agrotour.net) and the inclusion of the quality standards developed by the agrotourism entrepreneurs for protecting and promoting the vocational integrity of the sector. The project’s outcomes include:(a) A vocational training system based on common quality characteristics of European agrotourism, and(b) A trustworthy validation system awarding the “European Agrotourism Badge” utilizing the grass root developed regional practices and the philosophy of EQF for cross-regional vocational transparency.The project is undertaken by a coherent consortium consisting of organisations with relevant orientation from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Lithuania and the Netherlands. Τhe applicant coordinator Enosi Agrotourismou Ionion Nison (Agrotourism Union of Ionian Islands) and the associated partner Syndesmos Enoseon Agrotourismou Ellados (Greek Association of Agrotourism Unions) will empower the evolution and valorise the outcomes of the project. The Greek Standards Organisation (ELOT) utilises quality data developed by entrepreneur associations as well as genuine sustainability standards to create the European Agrotourism Quality Standard (EUAN). The aim is to empower the agrotourism enterprise through validation of their status, to qualify for display of the European Agrotourism Badge (EUAB). Amalgama enhances the existing software databases and develop the appropriate web-based validation tools for supporting the project evolution. Trisys coordinates the activities and assures compliance with the documentation and the project deliverable. The European core partners, representing mostly networks and professional associations in their countries, will secure the participation of the main agrotourism stakeholders in national workshops for identifying the regional agrotourism quality standards and will valorise the European Agrotourism Badge in their regions.The project will deliver the following outcomes:1. Website focusing on the European Agrotourism Quality Standard5. On line validation tool guiding the potential EUAB applicant / enterprise.6. Web based distance training for EUAB inspector training The agrotourism stakeholders involved in the project are expected to act as multipliers for deepening and enlarging the application of the European Agrotourism Badge to other regions of the participating countries.
