The youth exchange project "Europe through all senses" of the society "Erfolg" will continue 9 months (01.05.2016 -30.01.2017). Venue is Daugavpils (Latvia).Culture is a strong part of people's lives. It influences their views, their values, their humor, their hopes, their loyalties, and their worries and fears. Your culture has affected you, if you are from Paris or Sydney, if your parents are Africans, native Europeans, if you're Catholic, or Orthodox... And these effects influences each of us, therefore when building relationships with others, or simply communicating, it is important to remember about the role of culture in development of human personality and to learn to life with it. A good basis for the understanding of cultural diversity provides targeted discovery of other cultures. The discovery of cultures was the main point for the project "Europe through all senses" idea, in which the young people from Estonia, Portugal, Poland, Bulgaria and Latvia will be able to get to know European culture from all sides.The project aim is to promote youth awareness and understanding of the European cultures, using five senses- hear, smell, see, touch and teste. Project objectives:to organize activities based on the five senses - sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell, in thus way presenting participants a variety of cultural expression modes-national music, dances, food et al .;to give participants a better understanding of Latvian culture by involving them in Lacplesa Day celebrations and other activities;to improve young people's transversal skills.The project activities will run 12 days (2.11-13.11). There will participate 30 young people from Latvia, Poland, Italy, Estonia and Bulgary. All project activities will be divided into following parts: hear- traditional music workshops; see- sightseeing the museums of Daugavpils, participants presentations, photo game; touch-national dances master classes. Through the physicality and the touch of the other during the dance, the participants will understand each other better; taste and smell- cooking workshops. Each national group prepare traditional and the most popular for the each country meal. As the working methods of the project will be used presentations, brainstorming, discussions, interviews, individual, pair, groups and teams work, ice-breaking, team building activity, energizers, master classes, reflections. As the result of project youngsters will improve their competences, be aware of any national cultural differences and discover common roots. Moreover, in the project culture will serve as a way for improving youth intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual health.In the result of the project activities will be created an informative brochure, which will collect information about Latvian, Estonian, Polish, Bulgarian and Portuguese cultures including their national dish, cultural heritage, traditional dances, etc.
