Europe, mon amour? Europe – a shared passion and vision of youth?

The aim of this international seminar/PBA is to find strategies, practices and follow-up projects to re-ignite the passion and vision for Europe among young people, with the means of youth work.MAIN ELEMENTS♥ to get to know each other at all levels:o personallyo our organisations and our local realities and practices in youth worko our realities, identities, values and visions as citizens♥ to explore “Europe”:o history, values, identity?o for common grounds in youth work: programmes, actions and policieso the current crisis: entrepreneurship, employability, European citizenship, education … the way out?♥ to build up the participants’ competences in implementing local and transnational youth projects:o project cycle managemento funding schemes and European programmeso showcase of good practices and common obstacles♥ to provide support for developping follow-up projects aiming at …:o … igniting the passion for Europe among youtho … strenghtening co-operation in Europeo … promoting and living fundamental European values and concernsAPPROACHThe training course will be based on the specific needs of the participants and will be highly participatory. There will only be few frontal lectures, the main part of the training course will be delivered in the form of practical sessions implemented by the participants in a learning-by-doing fashion. The trainers will take care of creating a supportive and safe learning environment, where participants are encouraged and coached while mastering challenges that contribute to their personal, professional and organisational development. Special attention is paid to making the learning points of the training course relevant, sustainable and transferable, eg by giving ample room for reflection and assessment, by producing exhaustive documentation and by providing templates and guidance for tailor-made development and action plans.FACTS“Europe – mon amour?” will take place for 6 days in late June of 2014 in Iceland. The activity embraces partnerships of 11 organisations from Iceland, Austria, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Norway, Poland, Spain and United Kingdom, 20 participants, 2 internationally renowned YiA trainers, and 2 support persons.
