“Europe meets Carinthia“ is a group activity with a special focus on kids and teens. Two organizations are involved in the project, namely the youth center “Youth Point Don Bosco Siebenhügel” as well as the youth center of Villach. The two volunteers are assigned to one of these organizations and will take part in activities such as planning the EU-Café, and information events at schools as well as in youth centers.

The “Soziales Jugendwerk Don Bosco” association offers a broad range of service for the kids and teens of Waidmannsdorf, Klagenfurt. Games for kids till the age of twelve, a consultation center and the youth center for 12-19 year old are only a couple of examples. The volunteer will gain insights in the field of public youth work. He/she will be involved in different sections of the association. Furthermore, he/she will take actively part in the organization as well as implementation of projects and workshops. With respects of the volunteer’s personal skills, he/she will have the chance to work with kids and teens. The association primarily takes care of socially disadvantages kids and teens. At the beginning the volunteer supports the team, organizing and implementing the various activities to gain a view on the demanded skills working with the target group. The range of the activities in the Youth Cafe includes coorganizing workshops and projects as well as youth animation. The volunteer also have the posibillity to develop his/her own projects and activites, which will be support by the team. These could be sport as well as creative or adventure activites.
The "Jugendzentrum der Stadt Villach" is a well-known meeting point for the youth in Villach. It provides young people a creative room, where they can meet and talk about youth specific topics. The volunteer supports the team in a daily routine and advices young people in youth topics. He/she organizes different workshops and projects, supported by the team, based on the volunteer's interests (e.g. HipHop, photography, intercultural cooking,...). The aim of the project "Europe meets Carinthia" is to spread the european values in every-day youthwork. Sharing experiences on both sides and helping to implement annual projects, like intercultural streetfestival, children and youth literature festival, ...). The volunteer has the oppurtunity to plan and implement his/her own ideas/activites/projects during his /her stay.
Through regular EU brunches students should gain an impression of EVS, what should carry out that Erasmus plus is not a far programme. The participants should get interested in making the same experiences throughout EVS.
