The twinning Association Linden groet-grüsst-greets-salue-saluda Linden is one of the few cross-border twinning links active in six European countries. These six villages/cities are Linden-Cuijk (NL), Linden-Lubbeek (B) Linden, Linden-Holstein (D), Lalinde (F), Linden-Sankt Georgen Am Walde (A) and Lalín (E). The annual Youthmeeting between the Lindens is organised since 1982, each time in a different country.Young people with an age of 15 to 20 years with a variety of social and cultural background are taking part of the Youth Exchanges. Each village/city sets forth eight young people and two escorts. The youth reside ten days together, except for the daily dinner they are welcome in host families. The Youth Exchange 2016 takes place in Linden-Cuijk during the period 3 till 12 august 2016.The Erasmus+ project is called: EUROPE IS FOOD FOR US. The red thread in the project is the subject food & healthy food, the participants are getting familiar with the subject by doing activities which are aimed at the experience of the subject in other countries. Through the activities the participants develop the competences of Youth in Action / Erasmus+.Bringing together young people from six countries allows them to widen their vision, their self knowledge and to gain valuable luggage for the further life: • how are your language skills;• how to behave yourself in a large group of unknown persons of the same age with different cultural backgrounds; • learning from the others that their way of living/working/studying appeals to you and you can also apply;• extension of social skills. This project brings the participants not only new insights, it also enhances the togetherness of young people with different cultural/social background, thanks to the rule to all activities that the participants are being divided into daily changing groups so everyone is included in the intercultural experience. The annual Youth Exchange is a crucial link to strengthen the friendship between the 'Lindens' and to secure the continuing of the principals of the twinning link in the next generation(s).
