The Maison de l'Europe des Yvelines, located in Chatou at 10 km from Paris, will host one volunteer from Italy during 6 months (from 11th of January 2010 until 11th of July 2010). This project deals with European awareness and youth 'information. The objective consists in raising awareness, informing and educating citizens on Europe. The activities of the volunteer will be mainly based on animation. Daphne will help the team in the dissemination of information on European topics. She will make young visitors aware of mobility in Europe and have the opportunity to lead collective information sessions and local debates on European issues in our office, but also in youth organisations in the local community. She will also animate sessions in primary and high schools in order to make young people aware of European issues. She will draw the young public's attention to Europe and to their identity as European citizens. She will take part in some other activities, such as animation of linguistic workshops and organization of European youth projects. Daphne will enjoy a real "non formal learning Service". Beyond the benefit for the local communities, she will have the opportunity to develop her own project, to acquire new skills and competencies and to discover new cultures, which will be very useful for her personal and professional development.
