The project is to collect in Nimes four European partners from the 25th of october until the 3rd of november 2014 : The Youth Center in the city of Braunschweig in Germany ( twinned with the city of Nîmes ), the Vega social center of Belgrade, Serbia , Association MOZAIC in Pomorie, Bulgaria coordinator and the organization that will host the project Association Da Storm based in Nîmes, France . Each partner will be responsible for the formation of a group of 4 young more a youthleader. It is preferable that each young have a special interest in Hip Hop culture ( practicing or not one of its disciplines) , and must be between 18 and 25 years. It will find a mix and balance between girls and boys, but also in social circles from which the youth are from. In total, the project will gather twenty participants (16 young people and 4 youthleaders), all invited to visit Nîmes during the event organized by the association Thanksgiving holiday 2014 will be: Hip Hop Festival "Tout Simplement Hip Hop"for its eighth year of existence and whose 2014 edition will be dedicated to Europe. To mark the event two weeks around the Hip Hop culture in Europe we wish to stimulate reflection , cross visions of these twenty young Europeans. This exchange project allows us to make a parallel between the history of the evolution of Hip Hop in Europe with the history of the construction of Europe and therefore of a European cultural identity. The event in the background, we will create a dynamic around issues raised by the association and its partners: “What are representations of the hip hop culture in Europe? How does that culture evolve? How is it reputed? What parallel can we establish between the feeling of affiliation to the hip hop culture and to the European culture? What future for amateur and professional actors of the hip hop culture? Where this recognition will lead us?” We wish to make available playful and interactive tools along the week in Nîmes in order to lead a reflection to answer to these issues and to avoid a too formal and too school pedagogy. Moreover different stakeholders will meet them to help them to build that reflection. A professional of every discipline of the hip hop culture will intervene. Every stakeholder will present the situation and the recognition of the hip hop culture, how it evolved according to them, their vision of hip hop in the Europe in general and according to their own experience as a professional. Afterwards introduction workshops will be proposed, promoting harmony and cohesion between the participants. That animation and relaxation time will help young people to enter into a dynamic thanks to a shared language which interests them, or even understands yet. In addition to the artistic and cultural interventions, person in charge of the Europe House of Nîmes will take part on the European cultural identity theme, and a person in charge of the ECOPSY association of Nîmes (association who questions stereotype mechanisms) will bring a social and psychological dimension to the discussion. In order to make these interventions easy to understand, the “Conseil Général du Gard” will make available French – English interpreters. Moreover major cultural places’s visits of the department will be organized: the Pont du Gard, Amphitheater of Nîmes, the SMAC Paloma, Aigues-Mortes and the Camargue. Within this project each partner will develop and bring to the group a skill of its own : - The youth of Belgrade Center Vega specializes in audiovisual production and will come with the hardware to make a film on the exchange - The Youth Center Braunschweig brings together young people who practice for many years dance Hip Hop - The association Mosaic come with young people from a rural or Hip Hop culture is a certain place and young people also used to work on the concepts of European citizenship, which will fuel the debate on European cultural identity . In order to disseminate the results of this project, the film directed by the group of participants will be released in greater numbers by dissemination session ( followed by discussion ) in each partner country , but the film will also be visible on the internet.
