euroCADcrete

Building upon the results of a previously funded Leonardo da Vinci project, the euroCADcrete project aims to create a more comprehensive curriculum and an interactive computer-aided learning (CAD) tool related to the design of reinforced concrete and further linked to new EU standards. The planned course will be at first degree level and will be aimed primarily at potential new students and/or practising civil engineers.Course contents will incorporate economic and safety aspects in line with the new EU standards, the new curriculum with be tested with teachers, engineers and students, primarily in NL, with translations provided on demand. Informed by a full evaluation, course designers will create an interactive software learning tool that will further include an introductory guide, supplementary teaching materials & exercises and access to an on-line helpdesk. The end results (study book and support materials) will be published with copyright remaining with the European Concrete Societies Network.Progress on course development will be publicised though vocational training and concrete societies networks in the participating partner countries with the new learning tool planned for implementation through concrete societies educational programmes. Longer-term commercialisation is planned by the project, to recover ongoing production costs and fund further course development.
