Euro Management Training - Developing a new Management Training Scheme within the European Vocational Training Sector

The Euro Management Training project will review and respond to an identified need for innovative management training within the field of European Vocational Training. It is clearly documented that the profile of managers within this sector is too narrow and does not fulfil sectoral needs, many managers having been recruited amongst the teaching profession without any professional managerial qualifications.Initial analyses will be undergone within the European Vocational Training sector to identify both skills gaps (competence needs) and existing good practice / areas of previous experience, the findings of both then being produced as contributory reports to aid the development of further training. The project will develop a new, model European training scheme and pilot this through a series of four workshops to be held across the partner countries. Participants will further attend on-the-job training to be supervised by a dedicated 'mentor'. Furthermore, all participants will work to a mutual learning task/theme and during the learning process will interact with each other through electronic means - the pilot training thus forming a European learning team.A final European conference will be held towards the end of the project to disseminate the results of both the initial analyses and the model European training scheme. Further dissemination will take place through the featured European partner, the European Forum for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (EFVET), and through previously established partner networks.
