Euro-journal: des nouvelles de demain
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

For eleven days (from 1st to 11 th of July 2015), four groups of ten young people (aged 13 to 17), who come from four different countries, will gather in Amiens (France) to create a “fictional journal on tomorrow’s Europe”. We will be housed in the bucolic setting of the castle of Dury. Built on their use of media and their representations of information, we will question them on their practice and the mechanisms of the building of information. The idea is to enable the group to create a video diary with the information they wish to hear on TV, radio, on newspapers or on social networks. European partners will have, beyond the collective creation, time to exchange, share and to live together. Like the young participants, each supervisor will be invited, in the project to transmit his "Savoir faire" and learn other skills or deepen them. To do that, we will use methods of Theatre of the Oppressed which aims to democratize access to means of expression for a concrete transformation of society. Specifically, the technique of Newspaper theater, which enable allows anyone to highlight issues among lines of journalistic information, to decode the ideological stakes that they serve and strengthen critical thinking and «Libre arbitre ». With this creation, this young audience will be invited to examine media and their impact on the representations of other countries of the European Union, with the aim of deconstructing the ideas conveyed about each other and ourselves. In a playful way, we will try to stage concepts of native, foreign, public space, education, equality in our daily lives, their sound, their colors, their intersections. "Euro-journal: news of tomorrow" will be an artistic projection towards a common and desired future that will enable us to design together a European identity based on a range of cultures. This project aims to develop their ability to take decisions as citizens, as well as their democratic awareness in Europe through various activities such as: • Video, theatre, music • Workshop on citizenship and media in Europe • Time of cultural meeting • Production of a movie set using recycled materials
