Led by the European Haematology Organisation the EurETAH-on-line project will develop an on-line interactive training platform to further develop and improve levels of competency and the harmonisation of skills, at European level, in the field of Haematology.The project will design and implement an integrated platform to support on-line education & training and the accreditation of professional competencies. The prototype that will be produced by the project will include three separate modules, namely, Education (to include haematological images and clinical cases according to the most advanced teaching methods), Updated Training (to include updated documents such as guidelines, protocols and therapeutic & experimental trials) and Accreditation (for which users will have access to selected test packages, to be carried out following clearly defined criteria, in order to obtain credits towards validation of their professional competency).The platform will further conform to the 8 requirements for Health-On-Line (HON) certification and will be made available in at least 3 Community languages.Project dissemination will be linked to the activities of the involved European associations and institutions, through use of partner websites, scientific journals and international congresses. Following development of the prototype, two dedicated workshops will be held to present the results of the project.
