EuFuTour – Reading Street messages as promotions
Start date: Dec 1, 2012,
Our squares and streets are doubtless the most impulsive places, made for and of societies; institutional evidence and individual reflections are performed there, either in e.g. oversized advertisements, shop-windows, graffiti pieces and street art interventions. Based on the activities and outcomes gained during the project “EuFuTour – Reading Street messages as promotions of a common and intercultural Europe” which took place in Mostar, Bosnia-Hercegovina in spring 2012, the planned follow-up project “Volume II”, also realised in Mostar, will give the chance to young people from all over the Europe to gain technical and content-oriented skills how to catch street visual narratives into the photographic frame, with special importance on those describing and/or reflecting a united, intercultural and anti-nationalistic oriented Europe. Using the gathered visual material, the participants of the project will find out the prevailing picture of contemporary European community, its future potentials, dangers, weak points in one side and promising advantages on another. During the variety of workshops they will have the chance to discover their own role and opportunities in building of common, intercultural European community. In order to distribute gathered street motives, reflections and visions of Europe, photos will be printed on cotton bags and later on, after shown in an exhibition, used as a tool of further spreading of critical and active attitudes to common future, while walking and carrying personal “cargo” in the messenger bags along the streets of Europe.
