EU Administrative Law in Global Perspective
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2019 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the School of Law and Social Sciences of the Castilla-La Mancha University (Ciudad Real) EU Law is a teaching assignment of the Administrative law department. Its members teach and conduct research on general EU law, on the one hand, and on EU administrative law, on the other hand. In the traditional curriculum EU law has been basically confined to a general course. This situation is unsatisfactory because it conceals the emergent relevance of EU administrative law, as well as its growing influence over both national Administrative law and transnational or global law. This proposal has four main objectives. First, it is aimed at strengthening the presence of EU law in the curricula of the Castilla-La Mancha University, both in the J.D. and in the LLM programs. Second, this will also provide in-depth teaching on EU law for future professionals in the field of Global law, which is an area with an increasing demand on the market for lawyers. The third objective is to conduct research on EU administrative law, especially fostering the engagement of young researchers in research activities and academic publications. And the last goal is to take EU law beyond the law school, providing lectures and workshops to students from other departments, to policy makers at local and regional level, as well as to the general public. The activities undertaken by the chair will focus on EU law, with an emphasis on EU Administrative Law in Global Perspective. Accordingly, the main activities are courses on EU Law, Economic Public Law, Administrative Law and Introduction to Global Law. The proposal also foresees additional activities (events, research and deliverables) and provides for well-defined dissemination and monitoring activities.
