The project's goal is to improve disaster management communication in handling floods in the Hajdú-Bihar - Bihor Euroregion. The steps taken include surveying the potential flood risks along the Berettyó river, planning and allocating defence work, and preparing an effective response to any future floods. Two emergency management centres were set up; one at the Hajdú-Bihar County Disaster Management Directorate, and one at the 5. Bocskai István Infantry Brigade of the Hungarian Defence Forces. These two centres will coordinate defence work using advanced information technology solutions. The responsible authorities tested the operation of said centres by organizing a mock disaster test.
