Esperanza Youth 4
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Aug 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Organization and carrying out of youth cultural events of any kind like, for example, concerts, openings, workshops, speeches. These events should offer an alternative to the commercial and consumption-oriented leasure activities for the youth and through these events local and international artists should be offered a possibility to perform. This excludes artists and events which represent or spread fascist, racist, sexist or homophobic attitude. The Esperanza-Youth project offers a non-commercial free space dedicated to youth culture and politics which are being shaped and developed without interference from outside. In this way the project Esperanza-Youth is a free space which offers the chance for the young people to freely develop. JKI sees the project Esperanza-Youth as a expandable social meeting point and also as a place of understanding and meeting of the young people with different backgrounds and from different cultural spheres in the European context - local, regional, national, international - with different opinions, ways of life and experience of participatory democracy. The project also serves the lokal community through playing a part in the public life, for example at the City Festivals and cooperation with the social institutions like asylum seeker's house, art association, institutions for disabled people, schools, Stadtjugendring. The Esperanza-Youth project is therefore a strong element of social public life in the area.
