Improvement of intercultural skills and skills in project management for cross-cultural exchange projects in Europe, intending a European focus of Städtische Gesamtschule Willich II This two-year staff project aims at improving intercultural skills and skills in project management for cross-cultural exchange projects of a critical mass of our teachers. We intend to send out a total of four teachers, among them one special education teacher. Two teachers should each spend one week job-shadowing in schools in France and Great Britain. The other two teachers will spend eight days doing a course in project management for cross-cultural exchange projects. By doing trainings and job shadowing we can implement intercultural competences in the curricula of the concerned subjects. Furthermore, the teachers, having gained experience and skills in project management, can establish cross-cultural exchanges. We hope that the gained experience during the project will inspire more teachers and students to participate in European projects and will improve the intercultural, linguistic and social competences of our students, especially the students with special educational needs. The aim of advancing these competences is to enable our students to meet the requirements of the European and international job market and, thus, to fight the rising levels of unemployment.
