FINISHED
Strengthening Pre-School Education Project was launched in 2010 by the Ministry of National Education. Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to carry out pre-school education in 81 provinces in more common and qualified manner. Our school has a great contribution for the success of the project in terms of training academicians in this field as the other Technical High Schools for Girls. The quality of vocational training of our students in the field of child development and training is important for the performance of their jobs in a satisfactory manner. In light of these considerations, our project has the goal for our teacher to give better quality, efficient vocational training to our students in the field of early childhood training. At the same time, our teachers are in need of learning current studies related to early childhood training in the Europe, various methods and techniques, and modern learning models. In order to satisfy this need, 10 teachers in the field of child development and training will be selected from Bakırköy KTML , 4 from Gelibolu Atatürk KTML , 3 from Sakine Evren KTML, 3 from Beylükdüzü ÇPL, 6 from Zübeyde Hanım KTML, 4 from Beykoz KTML, which are our local project partners, and therefore 30 teachers will be selected as participants. The project participants will be divided into two groups, and the first group will have training in Katholiek Primair Onderwijs, which is our host partner in the Netherlands, and the second group in SOSU C, which is our host partner in Denmark. The placement of the two groups will take 2 weeks, which will be carried out in different dates.
Our project fall within the scope of Learning Mobility of Vocational Training Students and Staff under Erasmus + Learning Mobility of Individuals (KA1), and includes staff mobility. Our potential participants have an average of 25 - 50 ages, and they are graduates of 4-year faculties. Prior to selection of participants, the criteria for the participants will be announced in the notice board of the school, and teachers who would like to participate in the project will receive application forms. No name will be written in the application forms, but numbers will be given. Head of child development and training field and counseling units in the schools will evaluate the application forms. After determining the project participants, project councils will be established in our school and in our local partner institutions. Organizers of travel, education, budget, monitoring and evaluation, and dissemination will be determined in project councils.
After establishing participants and project councils, preparation works will commence. Within the scope of language preparations, our participants will enhance their level of English language with language courses. For cultural preparations, project participants will receive information on the history, geography, climate, sociological structure, cultural and art activities and economy of the host country. This information will be given to our teachers by the education organizers in the project councils after their respective studies. For pedagogical training, field scanning will be carried out with the guidance of education organizers with respect to early childhood stage, and support will be obtained for this matter from academicians at İstanbul University, Department of Child Development and Training. Travel arrangements will be managed by travel organizers.
Our teachers will receive training on different, modern, and efficient methods related to early childhood training, class management, communication techniques, modern learning environments, student centered approaches during the placement process at the hosting schools. At the same time, they will be familiar with the country they are visiting and their people, and they will carry out sharing between cultures. As they will communicate in foreign language, their foreign language skills will develop.
Learning outcomes of our participants will be reflected on the education process in their schools after the mobility. Therefore, they will add different approaches, which they learn, to the content of their classes, and they will transfer the education process and program at the hosting institution by preparing presentations. They will update their annual plans by adding their pedagogical information which they will obtain in the board meeting of teachers in specific groups. In this manner, the students will have different educational attainments when they graduate, and they will begin their professional career as well equipped teachers. Our participants will have meetings with vocational institutions to illustrate the content of our project and final beneficiaries of our project, which are our students, in order to obtain practical and financial outcomes. In this way, the employment rate of our students will increase, and the staff demand of institutions for early childhood training in the sector will be met.
