PROJECT
FINISHED
When introducing this year's Erasmus+ Project to our students, 18 of them showed an interest in participating in the program .5 students are from 1ère GA (public management) and 13 students are from esthetics/Cosmetics. They get involved in the program through classes dedicated to professional learning as well as classes spent working on a project-related program.
At the beginning of the school year 2015-2016, two esthetics students left the school and we quickly had to find a solution in order to benefit from the bursary offered by the Agency. Thus, for the first time we decided to offer the program to students studying ASSP (Support, Care and Service to Individuals) which allowed us to broaden the program and include all of our disciplines of the Professional Baccalauréat. We were therefore able to fill all of the places available. This experience has been beneficial for the students as well as the teachers.
These candidates usually come from socially deprived homes and are all the more fully aware of the opportunity they are given and they really want to act on their professional future, that's why this project is so important to us.
Through this program, students show their willingness to develop their professional skills as well as to discover a new country and open up to a new culture that is different from their own.
Furthermore, those students are on the verge of entering their work life being in their last year of highschool (terminale) and this EUROPEAN experience will be an asset on their Cv's.
Moreover, those students are usually willing to stay and work in Aquitaine-in such sectors as thalassotherapy, luxury hotels or spas- internationally recognized facilities that welcome foreign customers. They realize that they are given the opportunity to improve their language level through their stay in Ireland or in Spain and to add a valuable skill to their Cv's in order to apply for a job.
As far as we are concerned, living in a more and more Europeanised society, we are compelled to train our students opening up to other cultures and help them develop both personnaly and professionnaly.
All the work carried out for 6 years now as well as our relationship with our professional partners have proven to be successful until now.
Each year's outcome makes us want to keep up and carry on providing our students such mobility projects opportunities that are valuable for every player in the program.
This year our project has been a success yet again and we have received very positive feedback from students, their parents and teachers in the professional subjects alike.
