Established in 2012, the Popular School Ziqqurat has become a reality in the city of Rome, representing a melting pot of cultures and a laboratory for testing forms of language teaching that try to meet the specific needs of learners and their possible learning difficulties. Through its Popular School for language teaching, the association Ziqqurat actively contributes to achieving the goals of the Strategic Framework for European Cooperation in the field of education and training (ET 2020), in particular by promoting personal, social and professional fulfillment of all citizens and intercultural dialogue, with particular attention to disadvantaged groups such as migrants.The specific objective of this project is to improve the functionality of the Popular School Ziqqurat, by enhancing its operational capacity and the quality of teaching, through the introduction of effective and innovative tools and teaching methods and keeping an eye on the lifelong learning opportunities offered by the European Union.To play a leading role and become a reference school for migrants, Ziqqurat must optimize its human resources, in order to ensure that everyone can express the best of him/herself and constantly increase his/her professional skills. In addition, to acquire cutting-edge expertise and innovative teaching tools, it is necessary to put teachers in conditions to interact with foreign colleagues and for that it is important to be able to submit high quality European projects. For all this reasons, Ziqqurat has prepared a two-year plan of 18 transnational mobilities within two axes of intervention, which has been designed to meet the specific learning needs identified by the staff during the analysis phase.
