From 3rd October until 8th October 2015, in “the city of Peace and Justice" The Hague, 24 young people from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Romania, Spain, Ukraine and The Netherlands will come together to participate in a mobility of youth workers project hosted by Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD). The 6 day project called "Equality for All" aims to increase the capacity of youth workers and leaders in developing effective rights-based advocacy strategies for their organisations. The theme of the project is LGBT youth and the issues that they face.
Developing an effective advocacy strategy will enable youth workers to influence policy makers and other relevant stakeholders in order to fulfill the rights of LGBT youth. Therefore this project has taken on the following objectives:
-To build capacity of youth workers in developing a rights-based advocacy strategy for their organisations, with particular focus on issues faced by LGBT youth
- To explore possible partnerships to organise future projects focusing on improving the quality of youth work in promoting and protecting LGBT rights under Erasmus+ umbrella
-To develop advocacy strategies that are promoting anti-discriminatory practices for LGBT youth
-Improve the level of key competences and skills of youth workers to foster quality improvement in youth work
The project will use the following methods of non-formal learning: group discussions, role plays, performances, study visits, debates, round table with guest speakers, thematic evenings, case studies, presentations, workshops and theatre.
