PROJECT HISTORY: The school dropout ratio in our country is 44,3 % ( Reducing early school leaving: Key messages and policy support/Final Report of the Thematic Working Group on Early School Leaving/page 32/November 2013) . Decreasing early school dropout to below 10 % and increasing the graduation ratio of young population from higher education institutions to at least 40 % are among the goals of European Union for 2020
The main reasons for early dropouts from school are sociocultural and socioeconomic difficulties, learning difficulty and lack of motivation. Our institution is located at a settlement area where families with cultural and economic disadvantages that have migrated from different regions live. In addition, our institution gives education to students who are approaching the 9th grade which has the highest school dropout ratio. As teachers of our institution, we believe we can put strong targets for the future of our students and take measures so that they do not quit their education lives at an early age if we can motivate them to increase their skills in arts-sports without compromising academic success.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE: With this project, opportunities will be created for the training of our teachers in subjects determined with needs analysis while ensuring that our internationalization level in education will increase along with our quality by meeting the European Union standards through career developments.
NUMBER AND PROFILES OF PARTICIPANTS: All participants will be from among the teacher of our institution. Keeping in mind the dissemination process of the project, one teacher will be selected from each branch (science, mathematics, social sciences, art, etc.) who will participate in the training activities as a representative of his/her specific branch. The number of participants has been specified as 17 keeping in mind all branch teachers.
METHODOLOGY USED DURING THE STUDY: Taking trainings from EU member countries for the career developments of our teachers.
