One aim of this further education activity is to bring well-educated teachers to a higher quality level of teaching by investigating appropriate teaching at a leading European research institution. That covers especially the subjects project management and media. To gain experience in managing media projects in the context of European projects and to supply students best in their pre-scientific work are another issues. Another aims are to increase the teaching quality by studying the professional work in an environment similar to the involved schools but at the level of Higher Education and to transfer that experience. The objectives of the training project are: • Best preparation for the training’s participants by attending an advanced training course at the Virtual Pedagogical University (VPH, basic knowledge) • Studying the practical work at a leading European teaching and research institution • Getting involved in practical work in the frame of an international media project at a big and representative international teaching and research institution • Investigation of quality assurance and management in learner-centered (and open) teaching environments. This is going to be done by a three-phase strategy. The first phase is executed by attending a special course of studies at the VPH. The second stage is a job-shadowing in the host organisation to become acquainted with the working methods and the training’s environments. The third part of the training is focusing on the practical work of the team of the host organisation. As the host organisation, the DigiLab of the University of Rome La Sapienza is chosen. Here intensive research work in the subjects mentioned above is combined with students’ teaching. Furthermore, the institution handles the media projects of more or less the entire university using a well-developed quality management system.
