Throughout this application we refer to students, this is generic term and it covers Learners. The priority is to improve employability for our students. Our project is to attain next level skills programmes and or employment or Apprenticeships by supporting the attainment of vocational/ literacy and numeracy and personal skills to young people in pre- Apprenticeship Traineeships and pre-employment Study Programme courses 15 to 18 and 19+ who have been let down by the state education system and who have some barriers to employment that can be removed by improved experience, employability and vocational skills. These students will have been turned down by employers for employment or Apprenticeship for lack of experience, lower than grade "C" in Maths and English at GCSE and now employer reference or credible work experience. Our project will work within the Construction, Retail and Performing Arts sectors, with EU host partners and employers in Belgium and Spain, that we have worked with for many years. Under this application we are introducing ECVET units into the delivery and assessment process for the first time, in a pilot project way. These learners will be 16 to 18 currently completing their course and require an employer placement to enter a Traineeships as a progression from there study programme this project will provide the work experience placement that will give them their first employer reference. This reference will open up UK employer placements on their return. Current Traineeships students who have been on a placement and failed to retain employment or Apprenticeship as they may have been one of 2 o4 students on trial with a UK employer will use this project time to gain work experience in Europe with the emphasis on points raised by the last employer about their weaknesses.Apprentices and Level 3 students in Performing Arts will use the project employer placements to prove professional performance for their application for "Equity Card" and or to improve their professional CV.
